How do I create a Teka account?

Download the Teka app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Sign up with your email address and complete age verification. You must be 18 or older to register.

How do I reset my password?

On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. You will receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

If you no longer have access to your email address, contact us at support@teka-mh.co.za with proof of identity.

How do I delete my account?

Visit our Account Deletion page for full instructions. You can request deletion from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or by emailing support@teka-mh.co.za.

Deletion is processed within 30 days. Financial records related to earnings are retained for 7 years as required by South African tax law.

Why was my account suspended?

Accounts are suspended for violations of our Terms of Service, including posting prohibited content, fraud, or impersonation. You will have received an email at your registered address explaining the reason.

To appeal a suspension, email support@teka-mh.co.za with your username and a brief explanation. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days.

How do I change my username or profile photo?

In the app, go to your profile → tap Edit Profile. You can update your display name, username, bio, and profile photo from there. Username changes take effect immediately across the platform.

The app is crashing or not loading — what should I do?

Try these steps in order:

  • Force-close the app and reopen it
  • Check you have a stable internet connection
  • Update the app to the latest version from the Play Store or App Store
  • Clear the app cache (Android: Settings → Apps → Teka → Clear Cache)
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app

If the problem persists, email support@teka-mh.co.za with your device model and OS version.

Earnings & Payouts

How does creator monetisation work on Teka?

Teka serves Google AdMob ads on your videos and shares 50–60% of net advertising revenue with you. There is no minimum follower count — you start earning from your first video. Earnings are calculated daily and updated in the app.

How much do I earn per 1,000 views?

Earnings per 1,000 views (RPM) depend on your audience's country, your content niche, and ad market conditions. RPM typically ranges from $0.30 to $6.00 USD. Tier-1 countries (US, UK, Australia, Canada) pay the highest rates.

When do I get paid?

Payouts are processed monthly, at the start of each calendar month for the previous month's earnings — provided your balance meets the minimum withdrawal threshold. You will receive a notification in the app when your payout is on its way.

How do I withdraw my earnings?

Go to your Wallet in the app and tap Withdraw. South African creators can withdraw via Paystack (EFT bank transfer). International creators can withdraw via Wise to their local bank account in their home currency.

Make sure your payout details are set up before the monthly processing date.

What is the minimum withdrawal amount?

South Africa (Paystack): R50
International (Wise): Approximately $5 USD equivalent in your local currency.

Balances below the threshold roll over to the next month automatically.

My payout hasn't arrived — what do I do?

EFT bank transfers typically take 1–3 business days. Wise international transfers take 1–5 business days depending on currency and destination country.

If it has been longer than 7 business days, email support@teka-mh.co.za with your username and the payout date so we can investigate.

Teka Creator Tools (Chrome Extension)

What is Teka Creator Tools?

Teka Creator Tools is a free Chrome Extension that adds an AI-powered toolbar to YouTube. Features include competitor analysis, keyword research, title idea generation, and thumbnail scoring — all without leaving YouTube. Available on the Chrome Web Store.

Do I need a Teka app account to use the extension?

You can create an account directly inside the extension — no need to download the app first. Your extension account is linked to the same Teka profile and you can log into the app with the same credentials.

The toolbar isn't showing on YouTube — what do I do?

Try these steps:

  • Make sure the extension is enabled — click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar and check Teka Creator Tools is toggled on
  • Hard-refresh YouTube (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R)
  • Disable other YouTube-related extensions temporarily to check for conflicts
  • Remove and reinstall the extension from the Chrome Web Store

If the issue continues, email support@teka-mh.co.za with your Chrome version and a description of what you see.

How do I connect my YouTube Analytics?

Open the extension popup and go to the Analytics tab. Click Connect YouTube and sign in with your Google account. You will be asked for read-only access to your YouTube Analytics data — Teka never posts, deletes, or modifies anything on your channel.

You can revoke access at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions.

How do I upgrade to Pro or cancel my subscription?

To upgrade, open the extension popup and click Upgrade to Pro. To cancel, email support@teka-mh.co.za with your account email and we will cancel immediately. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

What data does the extension collect?

The extension collects your email address and display name for authentication, and temporarily caches YouTube video metadata (tags, channel stats) locally on your device. It never reads your browsing history, accesses pages outside YouTube, or sells your data. See the Chrome Extension section of our Privacy Policy for full details.

Content & Safety

How do I report a video or user?

Tap the ⋮ three-dot menu on any video or profile in the app and select Report. Choose the most appropriate reason and submit. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24–72 hours.

For urgent safety concerns, email support@teka-mh.co.za with "URGENT" in the subject line.

What content is not allowed on Teka?

Teka is an 18+ platform. Prohibited content includes:

  • Minors in any sexual context
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Content that promotes real-world violence or terrorism
  • Spam, scams, and fraudulent content
  • Impersonation of other creators or public figures
  • Content that violates applicable law

My video was removed — how do I appeal?

If a video was removed, you will have received an in-app notification and email explaining the reason. To appeal, reply to that email or contact support@teka-mh.co.za with your video title and your explanation. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days.

How do I report a copyright infringement?

Email support@teka-mh.co.za with the subject line "Copyright Claim". Please include a link to the infringing content, proof of your original ownership, and your contact details. We process valid copyright claims within 5 business days.
